Tânărul antreprenor, în vârstă de 30 de ani, şi-a şocat angajaţii în momentul în care i-a anunţat că noul venit minim anual în compania pe care o conduce va fi de 70.000 de dolari. Înainte de a-şi reduce salariul, Dan Price, care a pus bazele companiei Gravity Payments în 2004, avea un venit anual de 1 milion de dolari.
