La 1 octombrie 2023 a intrat în vigoare Legea nr.160/2023 cu privire la garantarea depozitelor în bănci, potrivit căreia Republica Moldova a racordat prevederile sale legislative aferente garantării depozitelor în bănci la bunele practici internaționale și standarde europene în domeniu, astfel stabilind, începând cu 1 ianuarie 2024, plafonul de garantare a depozitelor bancare la 100 000 lei.
Cota impozitului pe venit reținută din dobânzile achitate în folosul persoanelor fizice rezidente de către bănci, asociații de economii şi împrumut, precum și emitenții de valori mobiliare corporative, ar putea fi redusă de la 7% la 6%.
