Din 2018, în Moldova poate fi interzis importul unor mărfuri ce conțin organisme modificate genetic

Această inițiativă a Ministerului Mediului a fost discutată la ședința comisiei parlamentare de profil. Proiectul prevede că peste 2 ani poate fi interzis importul tuturor mărfurilor care conțin mai mult de 0,9% de organisme modificate genetic. Proiectul prevede că companiile care importă produse alimentare, cereale, semințe, medicamente, vor trebui să prezinte un pachet de documente, inclusiv certificatul de proveniență, care vor confirma existența organismelor modificate genetic, proporția acestora, etc. De asemenea, vor fi aplicate amenzi pentru cei care nu respectă cerințele în domeniul OMG. Proiectul mai propune crearea mecanismului de monitorizare a importului. Astfel, Ministerul Sănătății trebuie să asigure supravegherea importului medicamentelor, Ministerele Agriculturii și Mediului – de cereale și semințe. Potrivit specialiștilor, în prezent, în piețele și magazinele din Moldova este prezentă o cantitate mare de producție modificată genetic: legume, fructe, ciocolată, biscuiți, ceai, sosuri, medicamente. Este de menționat că laboratoarele din Moldova nu sunt acreditate pentru verificarea datelor care vor fi prezentate de importatori.
