Importul şi comercializarea produselor de azbest va fi interzis

Importul și comercializarea produselor din azbest în Republica Moldova va fi interzis, potrivit unui proiect de lege avizat astăzi pozitiv de Guvern, care urmează să fie adoptat de Parlament. Sîntem unica ţară din Europa, de la Atlantic încoace, care mai permite importul, depozitarea şi comercializarea acestor produse. Toate ţările au exclus aceste produse zece ani în urmă, noi avem încă probleme în acest sens, a menţionat Valeriu Munteanu, ministru al Mediului. Uniunea Europeană a interzis utilizarea produselor ce conţin azbest încă din 2005. Proiectul de lege se discută de „vreo cinci-şase ani şi abia acum, pentru a treia oară, a ajuns să fie aprobat de Guvern”. „Cele mai răspîndite produse cu conţinut de azbest sînt foile de ardezie, care dacă sînt pulverizate sînt cancerigene şi ca urmare destul de periculoase”, a spus ministrul. Toate tentativele de pînă acum s-au ciocnit de un interes major din partea producătorilor (din Federaţia Rusă şi Ucraina) şi a importatorilor, care au împiedicat adoptarea unor măsuri legislative în folosul cetăţenilor şi al mediului ambiant. Avem toată convingerea că, în cel mai scurt timp, Republica Moldova va depăși această reminiscență sovietică, care omoară la propriu și figurat cetățenii noștri, se arată într-o declarație făcută anterior de Ministerul Mediului. Potrivit proiectului de lege, aceasta va intra în vigoare după şase luni de la adoptare. Comercializarea stocurilor de produse din azbest va fi permisă timp de un an după intrarea în vigoare a legii, iar cetăţenii nu vor fi impuşi să dea jos foile de ardezie de pe case.
