În Republica Moldova a fost instituit Consiliul Naţional pentru Dezvoltare Durabilă

Guvernul a instituit Consiliul Naţional pentru Dezvoltare Durabilă, aprobând o decizie în acest sens, în cadrul ședinței de ieri a Cabinetului de miniștri. Totodată, a fost aprobat Regulamentul și componența nominală a Consiliului. Astfel, noul organ se va preocupa de realizarea angajamentelor ce reies din Agenda pentru Dezvoltare Durabilă 2030, adoptată la Summit-ul Organizației Națiunilor Unite de la New York, la 25 septembrie 2015, destinat tuturor țărilor din lume în scopul de a contribui la eradicarea sărăciei și la realizarea dezvoltării durabile până în anul 2030. Agenda include un set de 17 obiective de dezvoltare durabilă și care urmărește să consolideze pacea universală. Eradicarea sărăciei și a foametei, asigurarea securității alimentare, îmbunătățirea nutriției, modernizarea educației, asigurarea accesului tuturor persoanelor la servicii energetice, creșterea economică, îmbunătățirea infrastructurii cât și dezvoltarea agriculturii sunt doar câteva obiective stabilite în Agendă, care vor fi urmărite și aplicate și în Republica Moldova prin intermediul activității Consiliului Naţional pentru Dezvoltare Durabilă. Componența Consiliului va întruni miniștri, rectori, șefi de agenții, reprezentanți ai societății civile, precum şi ai echipei Organizației Națiunilor Unite (ONU) la Chişinău. Republica Moldova s-a alăturat astfel celor 193 state membre ale ONU la Summitul privind dezvoltarea durabilă din septembrie 2015, adoptând Agenda 2030, un program de acţiune globală în domeniul dezvoltării cu un caracter universal şi care promovează echilibrul între cele trei dimensiuni ale dezvoltării durabile - economic, social şi de mediu. Pentru prima oară, acţiunile vizează în egală măsură statele dezvoltate şi cele aflate în curs de dezvoltare.
