Ministerul Transporturilor speră că Banca Mondială va finanța o serie de proiecte din domeniul transporturilor și infrastructurii drumurilor

Declarația a fost făcută de șeful instituției, Iurie Chirinciuc, la întrevederea cu David Michael Gould, economistul principal din Oficiul Economistului-Șef pentru Europa și Asia Centrală. În acest sens, el a subliniat importanța finanțării elaborării studiilor de fezabilitate pentru proiectele de prioritate ale ministerului cu privire la construcția drumului de centură al orașului Chișinău, construcția Aeroportului Internațional Bălți-Leadoveni și reabilitarea drumului Chișinău-Bălți-Criva, care face conexiune cu Ucraina și țările de vest ale Europei. Iurie Chirinciuc a accentuat despre proiectele de perspectivă stipulate și în Strategia Transport și Logistică 2013-2022 a Ministerului, și anume, construcția unei autostrăzi Iași-Ungheni-Chișinău-Odesa care va face conexiune prin podul rutier peste râul Prut cu autostrada Târgul Mureș-Iași-Ungheni. Ministrul a aprofundat discuțiile și despre posibilitatea construcției drumurilor cu taxă. În acest scop vor fi necesare unele modificări în legislația de ramură. De asemenea, oficialul a precizat că o atenție specială se acordă și drumului Chișinău–Leușeni prin efectuarea lucrărilor de lărgire al acestuia de la două la patru benzi. La rândul său, David Gould a confirmat necesitatea acordării suportului de finanțare a tuturor priorităților propuse precizând că pentru proiectele enumerate se va pune accent pe selectarea în funcție de prioritizarea acestora. De menționat că, Banca Mondială a acordat un credit în sumă de $80 mil pentru construcția a 300 de drumuri locale. În acest context, lista de solicitări ale ministerului către Banca Mondială mai include și continuitatea colaborării privind reabilitarea a încă 500 km de drumuri naționale.
