Războiul taxelor vamale afectează producătorii autohtoni

Introducerea taxelor de protecție americane asupra importurilor de oțel a afectat activitatea Uzinei Metalurgice de la Rîbnița. Declarații în acest sens au fost făcute de către directorul general al întreprinderii, Serghei Kornev, pentru presa transnistreană. După introducerea acestor taxe, producătorii turci s-au reorientat și trimit o parte din producție pe piețele europene, inclusiv în România, care este unul dintre principalii noștri consumatori. Firește, din cauza creșterii ofertei, prețurile la produsele finite au scăzut, a spus directorul general. Potrivit lui Serghei Kornev, în medie, uzina a pierdut în aprilie aproximativ $50 per tonă de produse livrate. Cu toate acestea, o astfel de reducere a prețurilor nu este fatală. Nu putem spune că nu este neprofitabilă afacerea. Încă lucrăm cu o marjă pozitivă, dar nu așa cum am contat, spune managerul uzinei. Până în prezent, riscul principal este imposibilitatea de a prezice cu exactitate evoluția situației, deoarece nu se știe cât timp vor dura aceste taxe de protecție și ce măsuri va lua Uniunea Europeană. La începutul lunii martie, Trump a anunţat introducerea unor tarife de 25% la importurile de oţel şi de 10% la aluminiul importat, exceptând Canada şi Mexic. Taxele au intrat în vigoare în 23 martie. Ulterior, Casa Albă a informat suspendarea tarifelor până la 1 mai 2018 pentru importurile din UE, Argentina, Australia, Brazilia, Coreea de Sud, Canada şi Mexic, cei mai mari parteneri comerciali ai SUA, iar negocierile continuă. După 1 mai, preşedintele SUA va anunţa ce state vor fi exceptate permanent. Cancelarul german Angela Merkel se declară pregătită ca împreună cu preşedintele Franţei şi premierul Regatului Unit să riposteze, în cazul în care administraţia lui Donald Trump nu scuteşte în mod permanent Uniunea Europeană (UE) de la taxe vamale impuse importurilor de oţel şi aluminiu. Pe 30 aprilie Preşedintele Statelor Unite a extins până la 1 iunie scutirea de la plata taxelor vamale la importurile de oţel şi aluminiu pentru Uniunea Europeană, Canada şi Mexic. Extinderea a fost anunţată cu doar câteva ore înainte de expirarea precedentei decizii de suspendare a tarifelor.
