Uganda este interesată în dezvoltarea relațiilor comercial-economice cu Republica Moldova

Relațiile comercial-economice dintre Republica Moldova și Uganda, precum și impulsionarea acestora au fost discutate la Ministerul Economiei de șeful Direcției Generale Cooperare Economică Internațională, Mihaela Gorban, și Ambasadorul Republicii Uganda în țara noastră, cu sediul la Moscova, Moses Ebuk. În opinia interlocutorilor, în relațiile comercial-economice dintre două state nu este utilizat întreg potențialul existent de schimburi economice, fiind rezerve pentru dezvoltarea acestora în viitor. Diplomatul ugandez a menționat interesul sporit al autorităților de la Kampala de a avansa în relațiile cu Republica Moldova, în special în domeniul prelucrării produselor agroalimentare. Părțile au discutat eventuală majorare a schimburilor comerciale dintre două state, prin creșterea importurilor din Uganda a tutunului, florilor, ceaiului, cafelei, precum și exporturilor din Moldova, în special a cerealelor, fructelor, legumelor, medicamentelor, etc. În opinia lui Moses Ebuk semnarea unui Acord privind promovarea și protejarea reciprocă a investițiilor ar permite nu doar dezvoltarea relațiilor comercial-economice dintre două state, dar ar duce și la posibilitatea inițierii unor proiecte investiționale. În anul 2015, volumul comerțului exterior al Republicii Moldova cu Uganda a înregistrat $864 mii.
