В 2016 г. на капитальный ремонт доуниверситетских учебных заведений было направлено 313 млн. леев

Помимо этого, на текущий ремонт было выделено 42 млн. леев. Как сообщает министерство просвещения, в большинстве учебных заведений ремонтные работы были завершены своевременно. В этом году в результате распределения выпускников педагогических факультетов было покрыто 719 вакансий в детских садах и школах страны, оставшуюся часть вакантных мест в системе просвещения заняли педагоги-пенсионеры, а также увеличена нагрузка для работающих преподавателей. Как и в предыдущие годы, в этом году бесплатное питание получат учащиеся I-IV классов из малообеспеченных семей и учащиеся V-XII классов приднестровских учебных заведений, подведомственных министерству просвещения. Перевозка учащихся (17 тыс. человек) в учебные заведения будет осуществляться с помощью 285 школьных автобусов. Ожидается, что до конца этого года правительство Румынии подарит Молдове еще 100 школьных микроавтобусов, в том числе, адаптированных для людей с особыми потребностями. Минпросвета информирует, что в 2016 г. местные органы власти запланировали провести реструктуризацию 76 учебных заведений, 58 из которых будут реорганизованы, а 18 - оптимизированы.
