Zona Cahul, pe locul trei în clasamentul Global Wine Risk Index

Raionul Cahul, Republica Moldova, s-a plasat pe locul trei în clasamentul global al zonelor viticole cu cel mai mare risc de dezastre naturale „The Global Wine Risk Index”. Cel puțin asta arată datele unui raport elaborat de o echipă australiano-europeană de geofizicieni, geologi, meteorologi și economiști, care au analizat datele despre pierderile industriei vitivinicole din cauza calamităților naturale din 1900, transmite Agora. Procesul de producere a vinului este dificil în cele mai multe zone ale lumii, iar riscurile de îngheț, grindină, secetă și incendii sunt din ce în ce mai mari. Potrivit autorilor studiului, cele mai mari riscuri sunt semnalate în regiunea Mendoza din Argentina, unde viticultorii se confruntă cu „întreaga gamă de calamități naturale”, în primul rând cu cutremure frecvente. Pe locul doi se află regiunea Kakheti și Racha din Georgia, aceasta este urmată de raionul Cahul. Cel două „țări au PIB-uri mai mici, însă procentul din PIB datorat vinului este foarte mare”, se spune în raport. Nord-vestul Sloveniei a ajuns pe locul patru, iar valea Yaraqui din Japonia s-a clasat pe locul cinci. Experții au analizat riscurile de îngheț, ploi cu grindină, incendii, cutremure de pământ, furtună și inundații, dar și fenomene globale precum expunere economică și schimbarea climaterică. Cea mai mare calamitate cu care se confruntă vinificatorii moldoveni este grindină. La indicele Riscului de cădere a grindinei, Cahul se află pe locul trei după regiunea Mendoza, Argentina și Piedmont și Alpii italieni, Italia.
