Accizele deţin locul trei după ponderea în structura veniturilor la bugetul Republicii Moldova. În 2010, acestea au însumat circa 2,067 miliarde lei sau aproape 17 la sută din suma veniturilor fiscale. Potrivit praticii internaţionale sunt accizate, de obicei, 7-8 grupe de mărfuri.
