Британские ритейлеры сократят 900 тыс. рабочих мест в течение 10 лет

Британские компании сферы розничной торговли сократят порядка 900 тыс. рабочих мест в течение следующего десятилетия, говорится в обзоре Британского консорциума ритейлеров (British Retail Consortium, BRC). Сокращения составят порядка трети нынешней рабочей силы в отрасли. Готовящееся увеличение с 2020 года минимального размера оплаты труда в Великобритании, по их мнению, вынудит компании розничной торговли активнее внедрять цифровые технологии. Число рабочих мест в британской сфере розничной торговли уменьшается с 2008 года, когда оно достигало пикового уровня в 3,2 млн. Власти Великобритании планируют поднять минимальный размер оплаты труда в стране до 9 фунтов стерлингов ($12,6) за час к 2020 году. Эксперты BRC поддерживают увеличение минимального уровня оплаты труда, однако считают, что правительство страны недооценивает последствия этого шага для рынка труда.
