Cancelarul german Angela Merkel: Dacă "euro eşuează, Europa eşuează"

Cancelarul german Angela Merkel a sugerat, luni, că trebuie găsit un compromis în cazul Greciei, în timp ce ieşirea tot mai probabilă a ţării din zona euro a generat panică pe pieţele internaţionale, relatează DPA, în pagina electronică. Dacă se pierde capacitatea de a se ajunge la un compromis, atunci Europa este pierdută, iar acesta este sensul unei afirmaţii pe care o fac deseori - «dacă euro eşuează, Europa eşuează», a declarat Merkel în cadrul unei conferinţe a partidului la Berlin. La Bruxelles, preşedintele Comisiei Europene Jean-Claude Juncker a declarat că se simte "trădat" după ce negocierile cu Grecia au eşuat, vineri, şi le-a cerut grecilor să voteze "da" la referendumul fixat pentru 5 iulie. Egoismul şi uneori jocurile tactice şi chiar populiste sunt predominante. După toate eforturile depuse, după toate eforturile Comisiei şi ale altor instituţii implicate, mă simt oarecum trădat, a declarat el. El le-a cerut autorităţilor de la Atena să "spună adevărul" poporului lor, precizând că propunerile de ajutor ale creditorilor internaţionali nu urmăresc tăierea pensiilor sau salariilor. Într-un discurs adresat duminică naţiunii, premierul Alexis Tsipras le-a cerut grecilor să fie răbdători şi să îşi păstreze cumpătul, asigurându-i că depozitele lor bancare sunt "pe deplin securizate". Decizia Greciei de a impune controlul capitalului este "justificată", a declarat Comisia Europeană după o evaluare iniţială a măsurilor. Cu toate acestea, comisarul UE pentru servicii financiare, Jonathan Hill, a avertizat că mişcarea liberă a capitalurilor trebuie reinstituită cât mai repede posibil în interesul economiei elene, a zonei euro şi a pieţei unice europene. Oficialii şi liderii europeni au lăsat uşa deschisă pentru redeschiderea negocierilor cu Grecia. Preşedintele francez Francois Hollande a scris luni într-un mesaj postat pe Twitter că un acord cu Grecia este încă posibil. Vorbind după o întâlnire de urgenţă a Cabinetului pe tema crizei greceşti, Hollande a subliniat că Franţa este "pregătită să acţioneze" pentru menţinerea Greciei în zona euro. Potrivit AFP, el a declarat că referendumul din Grecia este o "alegere suverană". Aceasta este democraţia, este dreptul poporului grec ce vrea pentru viitor. Miza este dacă Grecia vrea să rămână în zona euro sau să îşi asume riscul plecării, a declarat el. Comentariile sale au fost susţinute de cancelarul german Angela Merkel. Purtătorul ei de cuvânt, Steffen Seibert, a declarat că Guvernul german este dispus să discute cu Guvernul grec "în orice moment", adăugând că Berlinul a rămas în contact cu Atena.
