ЕС делает ставку на газ из Азербайджана и Туркмении

Уже в 2015 году Брюссель намерен подписать меморандумы о взаимопонимании с Ашхабадом и Баку, которые должны стать частью пакета по повышению "устойчивости" снабжения Европы газом, пишет Spiegel Online. Решая проблему диверсификации поставок газа в Европу, Еврокомиссия готова форсировать заключение соглашений с такими странами, как, например, Азербайджан и Туркмения. Об этом со ссылкой на два документа, подготовленных для Энергетического союза ЕС, который в будущем станет регулировать сотрудничество в энергетических вопросах сообщает в воскресенье, 22 февраля, Spiegel Online, называя такое политическое решение сомнительным. Согласно этим документам, уже в текущем году Брюссель намерен подписать с Баку и Ашхабадом меморандумы о взаимопонимании, которые должны стать частью пакета по повышению "устойчивости" снабжения Европы природным газом. Этот пакет Евросоюз хотел бы разработать до 2016 года. "ЕС будет использовать все внешнеполитические инструменты, чтобы укрепить стратегическое энергетическое партнерство со странами-производителями и транзитерами", - цитирует документ Spiegel Online. К ним относятся Алжир и Турция, Азербайджан и Туркмения, Ближний Восток и несколько африканских стран. Проект также подразумевает интенсификацию партнерства с Норвегией, США и Канадой. Как отмечает издание, некоторые из упомянутых партнеров выглядят весьма сомнительно. Туркмения обладает едва ли не крупнейшими в мире запасами газа, но в то же время у власти в Ашхабаде находится диктаторский режим, а согласно рейтингу международной организации Transparency International, страна входит в десятку наиболее коррумпированных государств на земле. Азербайджан занимает 162 место из 180 в рейтинге свободы прессы, который составляется международной организацией "Репортеры без границ".
