Изменение методики расчета тарифа позволит компании увеличить выручку на 350 млн долларов. FedEx анонсировал введение новой методики расчета тарифа наземной доставки с учетом габаритов отправления с 2015 года. Такая методика будет применяться при расчете тарифа за услуги экспресс-доставки. Нововведение изменит, в первую очередь, стоимость доставки интернет-покупок. UPS не сообщил о наличии у компании аналогичных планов корректировки системы ценообразования. Однако, по словам представителя компании Энди Макогон, которые приводит Bloomberg, компания постоянно отслеживает адекватность позиционирования своих услуг на рынке в борьбе за поддержание конкурентоспособности. По оценкам отраслевых экспертов, изменение ценовой политики сервиса наземной доставки FedEx позволит компании увеличить операционную прибыль более чем на 180 млн долларов в год. UPS может получить большее преимущество, так как объем наземных отправок компании превышает объемы FedEx. В то же время эксперты полагают, что этот прогноз может быть преувеличенным, так как он основан на текущих объемах доставки и текущей структуре себестоимости.
