Американская экономика делает успехи - и Федеральная резервная система сфокусирована на том, когда и как лучше поднять базовую процентную ставку с уровня, близкого к нулю, заявил зампредседателя Федрезерва Стэнли Фишер, выступая в Нью-Йорке. "Базовая ставка на нулевом уровне не является нормой. Основные вопросы, которые мы обсуждаем сейчас, - это когда ставка будет повышена, и как это лучше сделать", - сказал Фишер. Он уверен, что экономика США "действительно восстанавливается" при темпах роста в диапазоне 2-2,5%. Годы низких процентных ставок способствовали экономическому подъему и помогли генерировать хоть какую-то инфляцию, отметил он. Фишер также считает, что ускорение темпов роста зарплат в США уже не за горами, несмотря на слабые сигналы их увеличения в настоящее время, пишет газета The Wall Street Journal. Снижение цен на нефть, по его словам, может оказать "временное" давление на уровень инфляции в США и, в сущности, окажет позитивное влияние на темпы экономического роста. В своем выступлении зампред ФРС также выразил опасения в отношении того, сможет ли ФРС оставаться независимой и способной осуществлять эффективную политику без политического влияния.
