Госдолг США превысил 18 триллионов долларов

В США истек срок последнего решения о приостановке закона о потолке государственного долга. Это значит, что Министерство финансов больше не сможет свободно осуществлять новые заимствования. Мировая экономика испытала серьезные потрясения во время острого экономического кризиса, разразившегося в 2007-2008 годах. Страны избирали разные пути по решению проблем, и не все из них на поверку оказывались действенными и эффективными в долгосрочной перспективе. Американские власти приняли решение об откладывании всех негативных последствий, увеличивая размер внешней задолженности. Ситуация дошла до того, что размер задолженности достиг максимально разрешенного законодательством страны показателя. Решение пришло быстро – просто поднять потолок госдолга, чтобы можно было брать новые кредиты. Стране приходилось поступать так не единожды. Каждый раз из-за этого в конгрессе разворачивались политические баталии, а если законодателям не удалось бы договориться, всей стране грозил бы технический дефолт. В свою очередь это грозило непредсказуемыми последствиями для американской экономики. Риск был слишком велик, поэтому конгрессменам пришлось уступить. Несколько раз подряд они приостанавливали действие закона о потолке госдолга. Истек срок последнего такого решения, принятого в феврале 2014 года, передает ТАСС. С 17 марта его повышение запрещено законом. Фактически это означает, что Министерство финансов страны больше не может свободно осуществлять заимствования, в том числе для обслуживания долга. В перспективе это может грозить Вашингтону новым экономическим кризисом и даже дефолтом. На практике, по оценкам специалистов, у американского конгресса есть время до октября-ноября 2015 года, чтобы еще раз повысить лимит госдолга. Размер долга успел увеличиться на 900 миллиардов долларов и достиг 18,1 триллиона долларов. При этом размер ВВП страны оценивается в 17,7 триллиона долларов, то есть госдолг превышает 100% ВВП. Неясные перспективы в этой сфере оказывают негативное влияние на американскую экономику.
