Ikea majorează salariile cu 17% peste ocean

Ikea, retailereul suedez de mobilă, va mări salariul minim al angjaţilor din retail cu 1,59 dolari, la valoarea de 10,76 dolari începând cu ianuarie 2015, scrie Financial Times. Hotărârea a fost luată în urma unor proteste din Statele Unite ale Americii, privind nivelul scăzut al salariului minim. În plus, protestatarii au fost motivaţi şi de declaraţia preşedintelui Obama, conform căreia inegalitatea veniturilor este “problema definitorie a timpurilor noastre”. Majorarea de 17% vizează jumătate din personalul din retail din SUA, al producătorului Ikea. Salariul pe oră o să varieze în funcţie de costul de trai în diferite regiuni din SUA, însă Ikea a anunţat că mărirea de 17% va conduce la un salariu minim mediu cu 3,51 dolari deasupra nivelului federal, de 7,25 dolari. Creşterea a fost calculată pe baza unui indice care măsoară costurile din industria imobiliară, mâncarea, serviciile medicale şi costurile cu transportul. Retailerul suedez a anunţat că decizia reprezintă o “investiţie semnificativă”, însă nu va conduce la o creştere a preţurilor din magazine.
