Irlanda refuză să colecteze de la gigantul Apple taxele retroactive

„Noi nu suntem colectorii Europei”, a declarat în interviu pentru un ziar german ministrul Finanțelor din Irlanda, Paschal Donohoe, la întrebarea pusă privind solicitarea înaintată acestei ţări din partea Bruxellului de a cere de la Apple 13 mld. euro de taxe retroactive. Problema este că, încă în anul 2008, gigantul american și alte companii-fiice au achitat mai puține impozite pentru activitatea în UE, datorită faptului înregistrării în Irlanda a celei mai mari părți din venituri generate în Europa. O astfel de manevră nu este salutată UE, precum și de alte state. În asteptarea unei decizii finale, care poate dura până la cinci ani, Apple și autoritățile irlandeze au încheiat un acord. Acesta prevede ca gigantul american să nu achite niciodată acești bani, indiferent de decizia luată de Bruxelles.
