Japonia a redevenit cel mai mare creditor al SUA

Datele publicate, miercuri seară, de Trezoreria SUA arată că, pentru prima dată după luna august 2008, Japonia a devansat China în calitate de cel mai mare deţinător de obligaţiuni americane, transmite Reuters. Portofoliul de obligaţiuni americane deţinut de Japonia a scăzut în luna februarie 2015 până la 1.224 de miliarde de dolari, de la 1.238 miliarde de dolari. Cu toate acestea, în cazul Chinei, scăderea a fost mai mare, până la 1.223 miliarde de dolari, de la 1.239 miliarde de dolari. În ultimele luni, China a vândut o parte din rezervele sale valutare, cele mai mari din lume, pentru a susţine yuanul. Rezervele valutare ale Chinei s-au redus cu 113 miliarde de dolari în primul trimestru până la 3.730 miliarde de dolari, acesta fiind al treilea trimestru consecutiv de declin. În pofida diminuării randamentelor în ultima perioadă, certificatele emise de Trezoreria SUA rămân cele mai căutate active din întreaga lume datorită flexibilităţii financiare fără rival a SUA, în calitate de emitent de valută, precum şi de deţinător al celei mai mari şi mai lichide pieţe de capital din lume. În total, străinii deţin aproximativ 47% din obligaţiunile în valoare de 13.100 miliarde de dolari emise de Trezoreria SUA. Majoritatea obligaţiunilor americane se află în mâinile investitorilor americani, fonduri de pensii şi Rezerva Federală.
