Кипр захотел стать энергетическим узлом Восточного Средиземноморья

Кипр рассчитывает в будущем стать альтернативным коридором поставок природного газа в Европу и энергетическим узлом Восточного Средиземноморья. Об этом 5 июня сообщает ИТАР-ТАСС со ссылкой на министра энергетики, торговли, промышленности и туризма Кипра Георгиоса Лаккотриписа. "Мы наблюдаем в настоящее время процесс активного создания в Европе инфраструктуры по приему сжиженного природного газа, - сказал министр. - В частности, Греция обновляет свои терминалы СПГ. Планирует строительство таких терминалов Хорватия, а также Португалия и Испания. Нам это на руку. Мы надеемся внести вклад в поставки энергоресурсов в Европу и, безусловно, ставим своей целью стать одним из поставщиков природного газа в Европу, для начала в виде СПГ", - отметил чиновник. В качестве ближайших приоритетов правительства страны Лаккотрипис назвал разведку новых месторождений в исключительной экономической зоне (ИЭЗ) Кипра. По его словам, на 12-м участке ИЭЗ ведет работу американская компания Noble Energy. Осенью 2013г. сообщалось, что запасы природного газа на месторождении Афродита оцениваются в 116 млрд куб. м, в то время как ранее считалось, что запасы могут достигать 140-230 млрд куб. м. Месторождение было открыто в конце 2011г. Помимо Noble Energy, на кипрском шельфе работают Total и консорциум итальянской Eni и южнокорейской Kogas. Они должны приступить к бурению летом этого года, сообщил министр. Он отказался назвать сроки вероятного сооружения СПГ-завода на территории острова, однако добавил, что для Кипра "важно не опоздать со своим газом".
Ведь мы говорим не только о кипрском газе, но в целом о газе Восточного Средиземноморья. Израиль уже обнаружил значительные запасы на своем шельфе, в Ливане очень скоро начнутся работы по поиску углеводородов. Европа смотрит на весь регион, в котором Кипр может сыграть значительную роль в качестве надежного коридора поставок благодаря своему географическому положению, стабильной политической системе и тому факту, что он является членом ЕС, - подчеркнул Лаккотрипис.
Летом 2013г. президент Кипра Никос Анастасиадис предложил Израилю сотрудничество в экспорте СПГ. Тогда глава государства обратил внимание Тель-Авива на удобное положение острова для организации газовых поставок из Восточного Средиземноморья не только в Европу, но и на Дальний Восток. В конце 2010г. в зоне преимущественных экономических интересов Израиля в Средиземном море было открыто месторождение Левиафан, которое считается одним из крупнейших в мире. Его запасы превышают 450 млрд куб. м газа. Noble Energy является одним из совладельцев месторождения - ей принадлежит до 30% Левиафана.
