MasterCard accelereaza acceptarea platilor mobile in Europa

Compania MasterCard a anuntat ca va institui acceptarea platilor contactless ca standard pana in 2020, pentru comerciatii care accepta cardurile MasterCard si Maestro in Europa, oferind asigurari ca, pana in 2020, consumatorii vor putea plati cu cardurile contactless si dispozitivele NFC la orice terminal POS din Europa. "Europenii pot deja utiliza cardurile contactless sau face plati mobile prin conexiune NFC in 36 de tari din Europa, iar entuziasmul lor pentru aceasta metoda de plata sigura si simpla este evident", potrivit lui Javier Perez, presedinte MasterCard Europe. Studiile arata ca, in urmatorii cinci ani, livrarile de telefoane mobile NFC vor fi de patru ori mai mari. MasterCard stabileste termenele de conformare, oferind un avans de timp suficient pentru ca ciclul de viata obisnuit al unui terminal sa fie asimilat. Astfel, terminalele POS existente pot fi inlocuite la sfarsitul ciclului de viata, insa nu mai tarziu de 1 ianuarie 2020. Terminalele POS noi trebuie sa adere la noul standard de implementare, incepand cu 1 ianuarie 2016. Ilustrand rapiditatea cu care noua tehnologie este adoptata de consumatori, un studiu despre platile contactless realizat de PRIME Reseach, in perioada 1 noiembrie 2013 - 30 aprilie 2014, a confirmat ca posesorii de carduri apreciaza confortul oferit de platile contactless si se asteapta ca toti comerciantii sa implementeze noua tehnologie. Conform studiului PRIME, tarile din Europa aflate pe primele locuri in functie de entuziasmul consumatorilor de a folosi platile contactless si a le integra in rutina lor zilnica sunt Marea Britanie, Polonia, Rusia, Italia, Ungaria si Franta. In Marea Britanie, consumatorii considera ca acceptarea platilor contacless si viteza cu care comerciantii vor adopta aceasta tehnologie va fi un factor diferentiator. La randul lor, rusii apreciaza avantajul de a-si putea plati calatoria cu metroul cu cardurile MasterCard PayPassTM, in Moscova. Consumatorii isi doresc, de asemenea, un nivel mai mare de acceptare la comercianti. Potrivit lui Chris Kangas, director plati contactless MasterCard Europe, numai in 2013, numarul tranzactiilor contactless cu MasterCard si Maestro din Europa s-a triplat, iar volumul acestor tranzactii a crescut de patru ori. Utilizatorii tehnologiei contactless spun, pe retelele de socializare, ca adora sa faca plati contactless si isi doresc sa le poata realiza mai des.
