PIB-ul României ar fi ajuns la peste 200 mlrd. euro dacă măcar jumătate din emigranţi ar fi rămas în ţară ca angajaţi sau antreprenori

Ţările ex-comuniste duc campanii de atragere acasă a locuitorilor care au plecat să muncească în Europa de Vest, deoarece şi-au dat seama că emigraţia costă anual procente din PIB, scrie Bloomberg. România ar fi avut un PIB de cel puţin 200 mlrd. euro (şi nu de 160 mlrd. euro, cum a fost anul trecut) dacă măcar un milion din cei trei milioane de emigranţi români ar fi rămas ca angajaţi în ţară, iar 500 de mii s-ar fi orientat către antreprenoriat. Ziarul financiar a făcut un scenariu ipotetic în care 1,5 mil. dintre românii care au plecat în străinătate ar fi rămas în ţară şi au calculat potenţialul impact al muncii acestora în economie. Astfel, dacă un milion de salariaţi plătiţi cu salariul mediu de 500 de euro brut pe lună şi 500 mii de antreprenori care ar fi făcut un profit de 50–70 mii. euro pe an ar fi rămas în ţară în loc să emigreze, PIB-ul României ar fi crescut anual cu valori cuprinse între 25 şi 35 mlrd. euro, potrivit unei simulări de calcul. În scenariul imaginat, valoarea adăugată adusă în economie de cei 1,5 mil. de români care n-ar mai fi plecat este mult mai mare decât valoarea remiterilor trimise de românii din străinătate, de 3-4 mlrd. euro pe an. Pe de altă parte, riscul rămânerii în ţară a acestor persoane ar fi fost lipsa locurilor de muncă şi intrarea lor în sistemele de asistenţă socială, care ar fi împovărat cheltuielile făcute de stat şi ar fi accentuat nivelul de sărăcie a populaţiei.
