Правительство США требует от Bank of America 864 млн долл.

Американское правительство намерено получить от Bank of America 864 млн долл. в качестве компенсации за потери по ипотечным кредитам, проданным одним из подразделений кредитной организации, передает Би-би-си. Ранее суд признал банк ответственным за обман двух американских ипотечных компаний с государственным участием. Данное судебное решение, инициированное еще в начале финансового кризиса, стало крупной победой для правительства США. В настоящее время Министерство юстиции США проводит разбирательства в отношении по меньшей мере девяти банков за продажу ипотечных ценных бумаг. В прошлом месяце американский банковский гигант JP Morgan заключил соглашение с Федеральным агентством жилищного финансирования США о выплате 5,1 млрд долл. за введение в заблуждение ипотечных агентств во время жилищного бума. Банку вменяют то, что он продавал ипотечные ценные бумаги агентствам Fannie Mae и Freddie Mac, зная, что эти кредиты уже оказались под угрозой невозвращения и перестали быть надежными. В целом JP Morgan Chase выплатит 13 млрд долл. для урегулирования претензий по ипотечным инвестициям. Кроме того, ранее сообщалось, что другой крупный американский банк - Wells Fargo - выплатит 335 млн долл. для урегулирования претензий инвесторов, введенных в заблуждение при операциях с ипотечными облигациями. Продажа переоцененных ипотечных ценных бумаг считается одной из главных причин банковского кризиса 2007г.
