Sute de mii de bancnote de euro contrafăcute au fost retrase din circulație de BCE

331 de mii de bancnote de euro contrafăcute au fost retrase din circulație de către Banca Central Europeană în semestrul I al acestui an. Aproximativ 89% dintre acestea sunt bancnote cu nominalul de 20 de euro și respectiv 50 de euro. Potrivit BCE, cifra este totuși inferioară cu 25% celei din semestrul II din 2015. Astfel, volumul bancnotelor contrafăcute rămâne foarte scăzut, raportat la numărul în creștere de bancnote autentice aflate în circulație (peste 18,5 miliarde în semestrul I 2016). Tabelul următor prezintă evoluția semestrială: Bancnotele autentice pot fi recunoscute utilizând metoda simplă „atinge, privește, înclină”, prezentată atât pe paginile referitoare la euro de pe website-ul BCE, cât și pe website-urile băncilor centrale naționale din Eurosistem. Mai jos este prezentată structura, pe cupiuri, a numărului total de bancnote contrafăcute retrase din circulație în semestrul I 2016. În perioada respectivă: - bancnotele de 20 EUR și de 50 EUR au continuat să înregistreze cel mai mare număr de contrafaceri. Comparativ cu cifrele raportate pentru semestrul II 2015, proporția de bancnote de 20 EUR contrafăcute a scăzut, iar cea de bancnote de 50 EUR a crescut. Cumulate, ponderile acestora au reprezentat 79,8% din numărul total al bancnotelor contrafăcute; - cele mai multe (97,6%) dintre bancnotele contrafăcute au fost identificate în țări din zona euro. Numai aproximativ 1,7% au provenit din state membre ale UE din afara zonei euro și mai puțin de 0,7% din alte regiuni ale lumii. Noua bancnotă de 50 EUR, dotată cu elemente de siguranță inovatoare, va fi lansată la data de 4 aprilie 2017.
