Uniunea Europeană a redus fondurile alocate ţărilor membre mai puţin dezvoltate, a crescut bugetul pentru migraţie

Statele Uniunii Europene au aprobat propunerea Comisiei Europene privind bugetul pe anul 2017, proiect care prevede reducerea fondurilor alocate statelor europene mai puţin dezvoltate şi creşterea bugetului pentru securitate şi gestionarea migraţiei. Propunerea Comisiei Europene de sporire a fondurilor pentru gestionarea crizei imigranţilor a fost pe deplin susţinută de guvernele statelor membre. Astfel, bugetul pentru migraţie şi securitate pe anul 2017 va creşte cu aproape 25% în comparaţie cu cel de anul acesta, se afirmă într-o notă a Consiliului Uniunii Europene. Bugetul pentru migraţie se va ridica anul viitor la 5,2 mlrd. euro, fondurile urmând a fi folosite pentru consolidarea frontierelor externe, redistribuirea solicitanţilor de azil şi integrarea migranţilor, în timp ce 2,2 mlrd. euro ar urma să fie folosite pentru acţiuni în afara Blocului comunitar care au drept scop să abordeze cauzele imigraţiei. Pentru a compensa cheltuielile mai mari cu privire la migraţie şi stimularea creşterii economice, UE a convenit să reducă cheltuielile cu alte programe şi să reducă fondurile destinate regiunilor mai puţin dezvoltate ale Blocului, marea majoritate aflate în partea de est. Ţările din estul Uniunii Europene, principalele beneficiare ale fondurilor pentru dezvoltare, se tem că această decizie ar putea deschide calea pentru reduceri şi mai mari în următorii ani, au afirmat mai mulţi diplomaţi. Consiliul a aprobat reducerea bugetului UE pentru 2017 cu 7% comparativ cu nivelul de anul acesta. Proiectul Comisiei Europene, care a fost aprobat de Consiliul Uniunii Europene, urmează să fie dezbătut în Parlamentul European.
