SUA vor contribui cu peste 10 milioane $ pentru agricultura Moldovei

Împreună cu cele 2,8 milioane anunţate mai devreme, SUA vor contribui cu peste 10 milioane de dolari la programe de dezvoltare economică în Moldova în anul 2014, cu un accent semnificativ pe competitivitatea sectorului privat în agricultură. Despre acest fapt se anunță într-un comunicat de presă al Ambasadei SUA în Moldova. Banii vor fi alocaţi pentru sporirea competitivităţii agriculturii de valoare înaltă, în special a merelor, strugurilor de masă, produselor cultivate în seră, piersicilor şi cireşelor. De asemenea, SUA sprijină eforturile Moldovei de conformare cu regulamentele UE în cadrul Acordului de Asociere, inclusiv adoptarea standardelor fitosanitare sporite. Eforturile de asistenţă vizează instruirea producătorilor moldoveni în ceea ce priveşte tehnologiile de păstrare la rece a merelor şi strugurilor de masă, care să le permită extinderea termenului de valabilitate al produselor, un factor esenţial în minimalizarea risipei şi creşterea veniturilor. În comunicat se mai menţionează că, după ce Serviciul Fitosanitar al Federaţiei Ruse a anunţat interdicţie la importurile de fructe proaspete şi conservate din Republica Moldova, SUA şi UE depun eforturi considerabile pentru modernizarea şi diversificarea sectorului agricol din Moldova, scrie IPN.
SUA le oferă fermierilor din Moldova instrumentele necesare pentru a putea concura pe pieţele globale, încurajându-i să profite de Acordul de Liber Schimb Aprofundat şi Cuprinzător recent semnat de Moldova cu UE şi susţinând astfel creşterea economică durabilă pentru toţi cetăţenii Republicii Moldova, se mai spune în comunicat.
Din 2011, SUA au investit 7,8 milioane de dolari în infrastructura post-recoltare pentru trei lanţuri agricole de valoare înaltă. De asemenea, programul de cinci ani de asistenţă, în valoare de 262 de milioane de dolari, a Corporaţiei Provocările Mileniului (CPM) ajută agricultorii în tranziţia către o producţie agricolă de valoare înaltă, reabilitează importantele sisteme de irigare, precum şi acordă împrumuturi întreprinderilor agricole.
Suntem încrezători că modernizarea şi diversificarea agriculturii Republicii Moldova va continua să aducă beneficii reale agricultorilor moldoveni şi suntem nespus de mândri de ajutorul pe care îl acordăm acestora, se menţionează în comunicat.
