Obiectivul fundamental constituie asigurarea şi menţinerea stabilităţii preţurilor. Fără prejudicierea obiectivului său fundamental, BNM promovează şi menţine un sistem financiar bazat pe principiile pieţei şi sprijină politica economică generală a statului.În calitate de bancă centrală, îşi orientează eforturile spre atingerea obiectivelor sale strategice, aliniate la domeniile de activitate de bază. Acestea din urmă vizează politica monetară, supravegherea instituţiilor financiare, emisiunea monetară şi sistemul de plăţi.
Денежные переводы в Молдову из-за рубежа через банки продолжают расти. По сообщению Нацбанка Молдовы, в ноябре 2017 г. объём банковских переводов денежных средств из-за границы в пользу физических лиц Молдовы составил $ 105,23 млн, увеличившись на 15,7%, по сравнению с соответствующим периодом прошлого года.
Денежная база Молдовы в ноябре 2017 г. увеличилась на 311,8 млн леев (+0,8%), по сравнению с предыдущим месяцем, составив 37,41 млрд леев. По сообщению Нацбанка, рост денежной базы был обусловлен увеличением чистых внешних активов на 84 млн леев (+0,2%), а также чистых внутренних активов — на 227,8 млн леев (+5,6%).
Comitetul executiv al Băncii Naționale a Moldovei comunică, că în cadrul ședinței din 27 decembrie 2017 a adoptat, prin vot unanim, următoarea hotărâre: 1. Se menține rata de bază aplicată la principalele operațiuni de politică monetară pe termen scurt la nivelul actual de 6,5% anual.

Нацбанк Молдовы опубликовал обобщенный отчет компаний Kroll и Steptoe & Johnson о расследовании крупного мошенничества в банковской системе страны. Этот документ был получен Нацбанком вместе со вторым докладом названных компаний.
Amenzile aplicate persoanelor juridice şi fizice pentru încălcările depistate în rezultatul controlului activităţii instituţiilor bancare de către Banca Naţională a Moldovei se vor vărsa la bugetul de stat. Prevederea este inclusă în Legea privind activitatea băncilor, publicată în ediţia MO din 15 decembrie curent.
