Republica Moldova a exportat în primele trei luni ale anului 2016 mărfuri în valoare de 417,2 milioane de dolari, cu 14,5% mai puțin decât volumul livrat în perioada similară a anului trecut. Aproximativ 64% din exporturi au avut drept destinație statele din Uniunea Europeană, statele CSI fiind prezente în structura exporturilor Moldovei cu o pondere de circa 20%.
În primul trimestru al anului 2016, Moldova a importat 155 mii 440,1 tone de produse petroliere sau cu 11,6 la sută mai puțin decît în perioada similară a anului 2015.
Министерство экономики Молдовы прогнозирует на 2016 г. сокращение объемов экспорта на 6%. Это предусматривает подготовленный ведомством предварительный прогноз макроэкономических показателей на 2017-2019 гг.

В Молдове на фоне кризиса сокращаются объемы строительства, о чем свидетельствует отмеченное уменьшение числа выдаваемых разрешений на строительство. В частности, как сообщило Национальное бюро статистики, в январе-марте 2016 г. было выдано 716 разрешений на строительство жилых и нежилых зданий, или на 12,1% меньше по сравнению с тем же периодом прошлого года.
